Self-taping isn't the new way to audition. It IS the audition. And if you don't know how to work a camera the way you know how to work a room, you're losing the job before anyone hears a word you say.
Camera Ready is a 5.5-hour on-camera intensive built around The Map® — the on-camera performance framework developed by Jeff Award-winning actor Stef Tovar (Chicago PD, Contagion) and author of The Map®: An Actor's Guide to On-Camera Acting (Applause Books). Students in grades 8–12 will spend the day working with real audition material, getting coached on camera, and learning the tools that separate a tape that gets you in the room from one that gets skipped.
Technical setup. Slating. Eyeline. How to make choices that actually READ on a lens. How to stop performing AT the camera and start performing WITH it. Every student tapes. Every student gets coached. Every student walks out knowing exactly what to do the next time a casting notice lands in their inbox.
Limited to 12 students. Parents invited to the taping portion of this workshop.
