YOUR FIRST MAP : A Self-Tape Workshop for Kids & Their Parents | Grades 4–7, Ages 9–12 Saturday, June 13 | 12:30–4:30pm | 12 Kids Max | $250 (one parent included)
Here's the truth about kids' self-tapes: the performance is usually fine. It's everything else that costs the audition. Bad lighting. Weird framing. A kid who's been over-coached and can't find themselves on camera. It’s all up to the parents to make the magic happen.
Your First Map is a 4-hour workshop for kids in grades 4–7 — AND one parent per child. Students get introduced to The Map®, the published on-camera acting framework by Jeff Award-winning actor Stef Tovar (Chicago PD, Contagion) and author of The Map®: An Actor's Guide to On-Camera Acting (Applause Books), through age-appropriate scenes, and hands-on camera work designed for ages 9–12. Parents will have their own technical session: how to build a self-tape setup at home, what casting directors actually need to see, and how to get out of your own kid's way and let them work.
Every family goes home with a printed Map® Beat Sheet — and the knowledge to actually use it.
Limited to 12 kids. (One parent per child included).
